Nizolek, Stanley J. - July 10, 2017


Stanley J. Nizolek, 98, of New Britain, widower of Mary E. (Hodge) Nizolek, died Monday (July 10, 2017) at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. Born in Stamford, the son of the late Stanley and the late Mary (Bird) Nizolek, he served in the US Army Air Corps in WWII, and was a tool and die maker at local companies. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by two sons, Raymond Nizolek and his wife Willa, and David Nizolek and his wife Huang Tran, all in Washington, a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Melvin Yellin of New York City, five grandchildren, Sarah and Joseph Nizolek, Katharine Hodge Yellin, Douglas Yellin and his wife Sheri, and Nancy Silverman, three great-grandchildren, Jonah and Jessie Silverman, and Pepper Yellin, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (July 18, 2017) at 9am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church in New Britain. Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday (July 18, 2017) from 9am until the departure to church.
