Ron was born and raised in New Britain, and moved to Kensington in 1964 when he married his wife, Judy. He and Judy have two daughters, and two granddaughters, and are member's of St. Paul Church in Kensington. He was employed at National Cash Register Company for thirty-three years until his retirement in 1993, and then worked at Industrial Safety Supply Company in West Hartford until 2003. He has been a member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Departments for forty-two years, and became chief of the South Kensington Fire Department, served twenty-five years on the Berlin Fire Board, ten years on the Berlin Water Control Commission where he was chairman for seven years, four years on the Fire Department Oversight Committee, and is presently president of the South Kensington Fire department. He joined the staff at Porter's Funeral Home in 2005.
